Unfair Dismissal Exposed: how to stop people problems becoming legal ones
From 1 January 2027, the qualifying period for ordinary unfair dismissal will reduce from two years to six months.
For HR and People teams, that means now is the time to look beyond the legislation and think about what the changes could mean in practice. In particular, it’s time to ask if your managers fully understand the role they’ll play in minimising the potential risk of this shift, which extents unfair dismissal rights to 6.3million employees.
What we’ll explore:
This session will be delivered by Di Gates and Aime Rushton – battle-hardened experts in resolving tricky people problems, and co-creators of the Connection Heroes Unfair Dismissal Confidence Kit.
Di and Aime have designed this practical session to help you look at what the changes could mean for your organisation, where problems are most likely to arise, and what you can start strengthening now to stop everyday people problems becoming legal ones.
This session is not a legal briefing. We’ll focus instead on what actually happens in the workplace: the conversations managers need to have, the issues that tend to get avoided or handled inconsistently, and the systems you need in place to resolve people problems well before they escalate.
You’ll leave with:
- A better sense of where the changes could create challenges for your organisation
- Six practical areas to review across your people practices, systems and manager capability
- Ideas for strengthening how managers handle people issues before they escalate
- Better clarity, on your priorities and what you can realistically put into place before January.
This webinar is built for HR and People professionals, L&D and OD leaders, and anyone responsible for supporting managers to handle people issues confidently and consistently.
January is only a few months away. Join us now to get clear on what needs your attention, where you can strengthen your approach, and what you can realistically put in place before the changes take effect.
Register below, and feel confident that you’re all set, ahead of the new year.
