Connect with LGBTQ+ Colleagues

Human connection is the engine of great teamwork. But it only works when everyone feels safe enough to show up as themselves.

This workshop helps organisations build a deeper understanding of the context and lived experiences of LGBTQ+ colleagues at work, past and present.

Many organisations have good intentions around inclusion, yet still underestimate how history, culture, language, assumptions and leadership behaviours shape whether work feels safe or unsafe for LGBTQ+ people. Wider social and political climates can also have a real impact, influencing how comfortable people feel being open, visible or authentic at work.

This session creates a thoughtful, respectful space to explore these realities and understand why LGBTQ+ inclusion is a critical foundation for trust, psychological safety and high-performing teams.

You’ll learn

  • The historical and cultural context of the LGBTQ+ community
  • How terminology and language have changed and why this matters
  • How the current political climate may affect feelings of safety and confidence
  • How you can make your workplace a more trusted place for LGBTQ+ people

The session is led by Drew Dalton, who brings over 20 years’ experience helping organisations understand LGBTQ+ history, culture and lived experience, and translating that understanding into meaningful workplace change.

Turn Insight into Impact

When people feel safe to be themselves, trust grows, communication and collaboration improve and teams perform at their best. This workshop helps organisations move beyond good intentions and embed everyday behaviours that ensure everyone can truly belong.

Who it’s for

This workshop is designed for leaders, managers, HR, L&D and DEI professionals, and anyone who wants to play an active role in building workplaces rooted in genuine human connection. No prior knowledge is required – just openness and a willingness to reflect.
